FISHING - A boat is available on Loch Meadie trout fishing. It is also possible to arrange trout fishing on other lochs for you with the local estates. Please indicate your interest in this when making your booking.
SERVICES - A daily paper can be ordered for you and will be delivered by postbus in the afternoons. Unfortunately a Sunday paper is not possible. We can also arrange to have fresh milk and bread in the house for your arrival if we are notified beforehand. Settlement for these items can be made at the end of your stay.
PARKING - There is ample parking in the driveway in front of the property.
PETROL AND DIESEL - It is best to make sure you are well stocked up with petrol or diesel before you arrive as it is much more expensive in this area. It is possible to purchase petrol and diesel in the village at the pumps belonging to the local hotel.

DINING OUT - Reasonably priced meals are available in the dining room of the main house next door by arrangement, if you wish to avoid cooking at times. You can have from one to three courses with meat , fish or vegetarian choices. Bar and dining room meals are also available at the local Altnaharra Hotel and at a small inn eight miles from the village known as Crask Inn.

For those who are interested in fishing, there are some excellent lochs for fishing for brown trout. Ornithologists can enjoy the variety of birds to be found in this part of Scotland . Historians can visit the new Highland Clearance Trail which opened in 2003 .If you just want to get away from it all and relax in peace and tranquillity, Altnaharra is the place in which to do it.
